Clay Flower Sculptures – Hand-building in Clay (2-part workshop)
Day 1: Sunday, August 10, 2025  |  9:30am - noon
Day 2: Wednesday, August 20, 2025  |  5 - 7pm (glaze)

Unleash your creativity and get your hands dirty in our engaging 2-part pottery class to sculpt your own beautiful ceramic flowers that will offer year-round color, perfect for indoor planters or your warm-weather garden! If you are looking to refine your ceramic skills, this hands-on experience will teach you the fundamentals of shaping, attaching, molding and sculpting clay into beautiful, functional works of art. With experienced instruction we’ll explore a variety of tools to inlay textures and patterns, giving each flower a unique design.

During the first class, you’ll use stoneware clay (cone 5) to shape and form your flowers. Between sessions, your instructor will slowly dry and bisque-fire your pieces. During the second class, you’ll glaze your pottery using a range of vibrant colors to highlight their textures. After glazing, your flowers will undergo a high-temperature firing, creating a durable, waterproof finish. Your completed pottery will be ready for pickup approximately two weeks after the second class.

This intimate workshop is designed for a smaller group to ensure personalized guidance in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Set outdoors at the picturesque Three Leaf Farm in Lafayette, CO, this class is open to all adults (ages 18+). All materials and firing costs are included. Some clay experience is helpful for this intermediate clay class.
